SENAYAN CITY COMES TO NATIONAL BATIK DAY
Jakarta, October 2, 2021 – Senayan City also commemorates National Batik Day which falls on October 2, 2021. Collaborating with Bateeq who is a talented local designer in Indonesia, Senayan City presents an Art Installation inspired by Indonesian batik motifs. This modern batik installation is a form of appreciation for batik motifs that aims to introduce Batik as the wealth and beauty of Indonesia which can be visited by loyal Senayan City visitors from 2 – 31 October 2021 at Promenade Atrium, GF, Senayan City.
"The celebration of National Batik Day must continue to be introduced and echoed by the nation's children. Being a cultural treasure, Batik is also part of the identity of the Indonesian state. Having a variety of motifs, patterns, colors, and stories behind its manufacture, Batik is a work that must always be preserved for its beauty. Collaborating with Bateeq, Senayan City appreciates batik motifs by presenting a special modern installation for loyal Senayan City visitors and the younger generation of Indonesia. With the presence of this installation, Senayan City hopes to continue to introduce batik and can add a sense of pride for the younger generation of Indonesia to batik, so that batik can continue to live, inspire and be sustainable in the midst of globalization," explained Jaclyn Halim, Leasing & Marketing Communication GM.
This modern Batik installation has a philosophy in every motif. Starting from the Tarajakti Motif, which has a philosophy of truth that is clearly in front of the eyes, it is reflected through our relationship with nature, humans, and God. Then the Kawung Rante motif which means uniting each other which reflects the meaning of unity. The Simbar motif describes the relationship between human life and nature, then the Tinari motif which is formed from two traditional motifs, namely banji and kawung which have the happiest meaning and ease of sustenance and order in life. In addition, there is the Aluwung motif which means perfection, purity, and holiness.
The celebration of National Batik Day is also increasingly felt with the collaboration of Senayan City with the Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) and the Jakarta Fashion Hub (JFH). Presenting a modern batik collection, fashion enthusiasts can enjoy a virtual collection of Bateeq and Purana batik on social media and the Senayan City, APR, and JFH websites on October 2, 2021.
