NEW HOPE IN OX YEAR

Jakarta, 01 February 2021 – The Chinese New Year celebrations at Senayan City feature gorgeous installations studded with lanterns in the iconic red, a color that symbolizes good luck. Also as a sign of new hope in the new year, the Chinese Ox Metal year is a momentum for all of us to get up and work hard after a year full of challenges. SPRING LANTERNS is the main theme for this year and can be enjoyed by Senayan City visitors from February 1-28, 2021, starting from decorations, shopping programs, tenant promos to various entertainment both offline and digital activations.

The Lunar New Year, which falls on February 12, 2021, carries the Ox Metal zodiac sign for this year. The dominance of red and beautiful lanterns will welcome visitors to Senayan City, whether they enter through the Main Lobby or South Lobby. Located on the Promenade, Ground Floor, you can feel the Chinese New Year with a thick feel and can be immortalized by taking pictures in the decoration area.

Combining red elements, lanterns, meihua flowers and a large birdcage, each reflects and interprets some of the reflections and hopes in this Metal Ox year. The red element is believed to be the color of luck and is a mandatory color for the Lunar New Year moment. Lanterns are a symbol of lighting which is interpreted as giving light to our path this year. The meihua flower is a sweet complement that marks the arrival of spring, the start of a new year which means the breaking of new hopes. The large bird cage is a sign that we are still struggling to break the chain of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, so this symbolizes Stay At Home.
